A 90-year-old man was caught with a 32-year-old license that had expired: "He parked by crashing into the wall."

The Navarre Regional Police reported the incident through its official 'X' España profile: "He was driving through the streets of the town with a license that had expired 32 years ago."
Just when you think you've seen it all in the automotive world , someone always surprises us with some kind of driving violation. This scenario is precisely what happened in Navarra, Spain, after police noticed a driver driving his beloved old car with an expired license.
As reported by the Foral Police - Foruzaingoa on its official X profile, a "90-year-old driver" was driving through the town's streets with a "license expired 32 years ago", that is, since 1993. "Lenkunberri: car driving with the trunk open ; parks, crashing into the wall; 90-year-old driver with a driving license expired in 1993, 32 years ago...", stated the official account of the authorities.
A completely surreal scenarioThe Navarre Regional Police, after observing that the suspect was making strange movements and having some difficulty performing certain tasks, in addition to having the trunk open and traveling at a somewhat slow speed, decided to stop the Peugeot 307 and check whether the driver in question was in optimal condition to get behind the wheel.
The surprise came when, as the vehicle was about to stop, it literally crashed into the wall in front of it. It's worth noting that the offender never disobeyed the officers' orders; on the contrary, it was simply a miscalculation that resulted in the complete damage to the front of the vehicle.
A very common violationOnce the minor scare had passed, the officers began the necessary procedures and asked the driver for the relevant documentation to identify him and verify that everything was correct: a "90-year-old person" who had some difficulty driving the car and, furthermore, had not renewed his driver's license for more than three decades, specifically 32 years.
What is the fine for driving with an expired license? Well, as the Directorate General of Traffic points out on its website, this type of situation is among the most common on the road and constitutes a "serious" infraction punishable by a "200-euro fine," as set forth in Article 12.4 of the General Traffic Regulations. It also reminds us that people over 65 must renew their driver's license every five years, while everyone else must do so every ten years.
